Bradford fitness enthusiasts experienced their first taste of HYROX competition at Jetts gym in Greengates on Sunday 23rd November, with beForm Nutrition there to fuel the action.
The inaugural HYROX simulation event, organised by Chris, a personal trainer at the gym, saw athletes push their limits from 0930 to 1500 in a demanding test of fitness that combined running with functional workout stations.
For many participants, this marked their first experience of the increasingly popular HYROX format, which has been taking the fitness world by storm.
Fuelling Performance
Ben and Claire from beForm Nutrition were on site throughout the day, allowing athletes to sample the brand's performance-focused product range.
Participants could try the innovative beStrong creatine gummies, refresh with beHydrate electrolyte drinks, and grab quick energy from beFuel sports sweets – all designed to support athletes through intense training and competition.
The timing couldn't have been better.
As competitors moved between the gruelling combination of 1km runs and functional fitness stations that define HYROX events, having access to proper nutrition and hydration became crucial.
The beForm team was able to demonstrate firsthand how strategic sports nutrition can make a tangible difference to performance and recovery.
Community and Competition
Adding to the energetic atmosphere, Lola Dutton kept spirits high throughout the day with her DJ sets and vocals, creating the perfect backdrop for the intense physical efforts unfolding on the gym floor.
The event represented more than just a competition simulation. It served as an important touchpoint for the local fitness community to engage with sports nutrition education.
Ben and Claire took time to discuss with athletes how products like creatine for strength gains, electrolytes for hydration balance, and quick-release carbohydrates can be strategically incorporated into training and competition strategies.
Growing the HYROX Movement
HYROX has rapidly grown from a niche competition format to a global fitness phenomenon, attracting everyone from elite athletes to fitness enthusiasts looking for a new challenge.
Events like the one at Jetts Greengates play a vital role in introducing more people to this accessible yet demanding sport.
For beForm Nutrition, supporting grassroots events continues to be central to their mission. By being present at community-level competitions and training sessions, they're able to connect directly with athletes, understand their needs, and demonstrate how proper nutrition can bridge the gap between good performance and great performance.
The success of this first HYROX simulation at Jetts Greengates suggests it won't be the last, and beForm Nutrition looks forward to continuing its support of the growing fitness community in Bradford and beyond.
